Draughty new double glazing issues

by Lysette84 » Fri Sep 22, 2023 10:00 am

Morning,

We had new windows fitted November 2022. I've always felt that there was a slight it draft or a room was a bit colder but my husband couldnt. Now that the colder weather is coming round again, there's definitely a draft there. I'm going to do the lighter test to check in the first instance.

It seems to be around the bottom hinged area on our tilt and turn windows, but I've been looking at the gasket seal on the outside too. I'm unsure if there appears to be some issues there, if it's torn or slipped down slightly. I've attached images. Does anyone know it these look normal, especially in the corners?

After the lighter test, I'll definitely be back in touch with the company. Thanks in advance

Hi lysette84,
Unfortunately there are no images with your post so it is impossible to advise. You must get in touch with the supplier.

Images now attached. Unsure if any of this looks different than it should / faulty / poor manufacturing.

Thanks.

Hi lysette84,
Thanks for the images, certainly the outer seals look very suspect.
In the first instance you could try contacting the installer/manufacturer. If you have no joy with them see if they belong to any professional body eg GGF. If they claim to be members of a trade body look up their web site and see if the installer/manufacturer is a member. You could then contact them and see if they can offer an assessment.
Good luck, hope you get a satisfactory outcome.
Regards S
