Engineered Wood Flooring in 17th Centuary Cottage

by Woodywoodpecker1992 » Fri Oct 07, 2022 7:40 pm

We are planning on laying circa 35m2 of engineered wood flooring (EWF) across our hallway, snug and kitchen. Our house (grade 2 listed 17th century cottage) currently has a concrete floor under the carpets in the snug and hallway, and floorboards in our kitchen (extension done a few years back by previous owners).

We are likely going to need to use primer before so any recommendations on brands/types would be appreciated?

We will need to self level so I wanted to know which would be the best type of self levelling to use across all areas (e.g latex or concrete screed) or whether we could get away with just putting plywood down before laying the EWF.

Also, we were planning on glueing the EWF down but, again, given we have concrete and floorboards would this be the best option?

Many thanks
