Freezer component corroding?

by Kathyfaull » Sun Feb 16, 2025 5:36 pm

Our fridgemaster freezer is a few years old, and seems to run fine, but I've just noticed some white flaking on the black area in the photo, and some white powder/dust fallen below. Just wanting to check whether this is safe or if we should stop using, esp since we have an infant. Thanks to anyone who can help!

Hi kathyfaull,
The working side of any fridge/freezer is always a mess and the white could be where water has condensed and left a residue. Unless the freezer stops working correctly I suggest you ignore the deposits. Buy a freezer thermometer to check its temperature.
Regards S
