Indesit dishwasher no longer turning on via smart plug Help, advice and problem solutions on all aspects of home appliances from washing machines to TV's

Hi all

We have an indesit dishwasher. For years, we have used it on a smart plug, to take advantage of the overnight cheap electricity tariff that we have.

This has worked perfectly fine for years. All of a sudden, the dishwasher seems to have changed behaviour in terms of how it turns on and off. In the past we would turn the dishwasher on, start the cycle, then turn off via the smart plug, and then time the smart plug to come on overnight. This worked fine.

Now, we turn on the dishwasher, we start the cycle, we then turn off the dishwasher and set the timer, we can hear that the smart plug is turning back on, but it is not turning on the dishwasher. It is like it is now turned fully off rather than standby.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Think I’m starting to understand what’s going on, but I’m not sure if a fix is realistic

The dishwasher appears to be ‘forgetting’ the last setting it was on before it loses power. When the smart plug switches on I can also hear something click/switch in the dishwasher, but it’s not switching it on, ultimately
