Hi. If the floor has been laid properly, expansion will have been taken care of. Either via an allowance around the edge, or though the joints where the edges of the boards meet.
Then assuming the floor IS solid oak and not some kind of composite, and provided you don’t leave the floor soaking for days, a wash and wipe will do it no harm at all.
Many people do finish oak floors and there are loads of products out there. I have used Liberon (google for it) products in the past, but that’s just my preference. Most of the manufacturers websites have quite good instructions on how best to use their products.
One tip, unfinished oak is not slippery it gets wet, finished oak could be. May matter, may not.
