Hi
I have just had seperate shower/wet room for disabled person and toilet converted into one room. The electrician has removed the ceiling light fitting from the toilet side and also the light pull cord from the shower side and left us with a wall mounted normal light switch on the toilet side.
Is this normal. I have always been under the impression that you never touch a light swith with wet hands. Apparently the Electrician claimed this is within UK safety standards.
Would appreciate some advice as not happy and paranoid about touching the switch

Ordinary light switches are not allowed in bathrooms Jill. Call the electrician back.

I Have phoned the contractor today and informed him what the electrician has done and he is sending him out today to put it right.

like others have said it is not good practice to put a switch in a room liable to moisture
