Fixing onto tiles in shower/bath

by GateGipsy » Wed Nov 05, 2008 12:42 pm

I want to put up a shelf type of unit onto the wall, above my bath. It is at the far end of the bath from the shower head, but still gets a lot of water onto it. Do I need to follow any special procedures to ensure moisture is kept out?

i always run a circular bead of silicone around the hole i've drilled before attaching the shelf. then another bead around the underside of the screw head. this should ensure a watertight fixing. alternatively you could use rubber tap washers.
