Hi there,
We're renovating an old Cotswold stone house and whilst we've exposed stone in various rooms to great effect but the thought of another round of sand-blasting and re-pointing fills us with dread. So we thought we might try a light render over stone in some of the rooms. You the know the kind of thing? A smooth finish following the contours of the stone, often painted white. Sometimes seen in old pubs, Cornish cottages that sort of thing.
Traditionally I think this would be done with lime render but is there an up-to-date way of achieving the same look? Can it be done with standard plaster or cement render?
Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
