Removing expanding foam from wood

by Geoffers » Tue Oct 25, 2022 8:25 pm

Thanks to my clumsy builder I have a wood framed mirror with expanding foam stuck on the glass and frame. I believe acetone will remove it but I suspect it will also strip the wood and I'll have to take it to a French polisher to have it restored. Does anyone know of a better solution?

Thanks in advance.

Hi geoffers,
Any solvent will damage the French polish.
You could try rubbing with a brass wired wire brush but I suspect renovation will be the only option.
