Replastering under-stairs area

by EoinB » Fri Sep 01, 2023 4:34 pm

Hello,

I'm new here. Hoping to get some friendly advice about how best to make the area under my stairs nicer. It previously housed a washing machine and a refrigerator (which should give an idea of the floor area - along with the attached images of walls/window), so there is some mould though I don't think it is actively damp. Those appliances have since been relocated, but the area remains a bit of an unloved dumping ground.

I assume it needs the worst of the old plaster work removed and redone, but it seems like too small a job to get anyone in for, and while I do like to do things myself, I haven't done any plastering before.

Thoughts, tips, recommendations welcome. Thanks in advance.

Hi eoinb,
On the one hand it’s a very awkward area to learn on, on the other it won’t matter if it’s not too good. Suggest you dryline the walls and you’ll be left with just the joins to make good.
Regards S
