Many thanks for your reply. There are actually no ridges to fill ! - the old paint is almost as flat as the wall. If you run your hand over the wall you can hardly feel the paint. Sanding it is a nightmare, the paint is so ground into the wall. Was just wondering if there was any other way of lining...

Lining Paper Woes and Visible Paint Ridges

Hi, was looking for some help please. Our lounge walls are very flat, but have old paint on them as in the picture. If you run your hand over it you can hardly feel the paint. Have tried two layers of both a wall doctor fibreliner with a 1400 lining paper over the top and still all these paint ridge...
