Re: Dampness under bay window - Victorian End of Terrace

Where exactly do you mean - on the exterior side, where the window meets the sill? No water gets there because the window is recessed into the moulding. Also, that area is well-sealed

Dampness under bay window - Victorian End of Terrace

Background: We've lived in the Ground Floor Flat of a London Victorian End of Terrace for 4 years. History of High Humidity: Overall, property has been good with no visible damp but seems to have persistently high humidity which I've been unable to remedy. Ventilation and Dehumidifier reduce humidi...

Re: Bay Window Wall Damp With Paint Bubbling and Discolouring

Did you work it out? I found a similar issue caused by my bay window guttering leaking - bay window guttering has a lot of sections and bends to a recipe for leaking. It was resolved by my roofer who connected new guttering. A good way to test it is use a garden hose on the bay roof when it is not r...

Re: How to Deal With Damp Patches High up on Corner Lounge wall

You probably know this but the mould spray will only deal with killing the mould spores, the damp problem needs to be addressed as the damp will be damaging the building and causing health issues. Re: External Concrete Plinth but Should I Remove?

Here is the photo (delayed pending mod approval of my above post). Tried to post in line but too big. The surface dampness in the image is due to hose only, all surfaces are touch dry.

External Concrete Plinth but Should I Remove?

Moved into this c. 1900 Victorian Terrace a few years ago, and although I haven’t had damp problems per se, I’ve had major humidity issues with certain rooms constantly well over 70% humidity even after thorough ventilation. The property is an end of Terrace, and all external walls have a c. 150mm h...
