Re: ELECTRICAL ENCLOSURE

Hi Mr White, Thanks for the advice, much appreciated, the reason I have not asked the electrician about this yet is that he would almost certainly need to visit the house just to assess the job and he charges separately for each visit, even just to give advice, I don't agree with this but hey ho tha...

Re: ELECTRICAL ENCLOSURE

Hi Mr White, Thanks for replying, I can see you’ve studied my history, in answer to your reply, I have a friend who is a registered electrician and he will test the installation once completed (obviously at a charge). My question - Is it sufficient to fix the enclosure box to a solid part of the dry...

Re: Tips on removing bath sealant from brickwork!?

DIY stores sell tubes of silicone sealant remover, works well circa £5, but goes a long way if used correctly. Apply and cover with strips cut from carrier bag or similar then leave for a few hours or overnight, sealant comes off with wire brush.

ELECTRICAL ENCLOSURE

Hi, I need to install / fit an external enclosure box onto an outside dry-stone wall (in the garden of the property) to enable 2 supply circuits to run from the enclosure, is this feasible and are there any regulations controlling this? Any help / advice would be appreciated.

Re: Electrical Supply to an Integral Garage

Ok, thanks for the advice. I think I'll use armoured 10mm cable and fit an isolator switch on the cu board, a 3 way cu in the garage to supply a ring main and lighting witch would have 1 spare space.

What regs apply to fitting electric meter board?

Can anyone tell me which (if any) regs apply to fitting meter boards? Can the meter board be fixed directly onto the wall, I notice that the original is spaced away from the wall slightly, is this necessary? Can a CU box (1xRCD + 3xMCB's) be fixed directly to the wall or does it need to be fixed to ...

Electrical Supply to an Integral Garage

I intend to install a cable to supply power to a CU in an integral garage. I am a retired electrician, I passed my iee (16th) and Part P a good few years ago so I need some advice regarding current iee regulations. The cable needs to be taken from an existing Henley block on the consumer board (the ...
