Matt paint for bathroom

Hello, We're about to paint our bathroom and were going to use Farrow & Ball estate emulsion but have been told it's not suitable for bathrooms/kitchens due to condensation. Would rather not use F&B modern emulsion as we've been told it's very shiny. Can anyone offer any advice? Is it worth ...

PIPE PROBLEM. Loud flush, rusty water, leak into kitchen

Hello, We seem to have a problem with our pipes. For the last year, the pipes have made a really loud noise after the toilet is flushed. In the last few week it has become steadily louder, like a plane taking off (only a slight exaggeration). Recently, on a few occasions. water has come out of the t...

TV wall mount stuck because of a jammed screw

Hi,

I'm trying to remove a TV wall mount whcih was bolted onto the wall. The bolts are out, but one hole was fixed in with a screw which is stuck.

It won't turn and attempting to unscrew it just damages the head of the screw.

Any ideas how we can get it out?

Strugling to unblock shower drain

Hello, In the month that I've lived in my flat, I've had persistent problems with a blocked shower drain. I initially used Mr Muscle Drain Unblocker which worked for a few days (probably 30 minutes of shower time). The slow drainage returned and I unblocked again with the same product. On both occas...

Leaking shower door

Hello. We've put a glass shower door in but it leaks very badly from the bottom of the door, at the point where it hinges. The guy who installed it did put in some kind of silicone (I think) but it hasn't made much difference. He also suggested that the bath is slanted in that direction anyway. What...

Heavy Mirror

Apologies for the level of detail here and the number of questions, but I'm clueless when it comes to DIY. I'm in a flat that was built about 7 months ago. In the Information Pack, it advised us not to hang objects from the walls that weighed over 11kg. We have a mirror 160cm-wide that weighs 18kg. ...
