Cup 'ring' stain removal from speaker cabinet and 'refresh'

Hi - can anyone recommend a way of removing the round cup mark on the speak cabinet in the attached image, also, is there any easy way of 'refreshing' the cabinet as it's now looking a bit old and some colour would help it..

Thanks for your reply - in summary, as long as I have the warm, wet air from the bathroom vented in to the roof the condensation build-up will continue regardless of how the insulation is applied?
