Yes, it is an open cavity and I have checked the lost space for vermin but cannot seen any signs, droppings etc. Its the falling combined with the vertical cracks appearing in the plaster that are concerning me - I'm pretty sure vermin would cause cracking to plaster ? Over the last 6months or so I have heard what sounds like falling rubble dropping in the cavity wall of my house. House is approx 30years old, breezeblock / brick construction, no cavity wall insulation. A quick check of the external wall shows no obvious issues. I have noticed a few vertical cracks...
