Parking on front garden

I am thinking about paving over my small front garden to make a parking space off the road. As there is no pavement and access will be straight off the road onto my garden do I need planning permission or some form of highways agreement? This isn't a conservation area or main road, just a back street.

Is this a sealed system (boiler fed off the mains, no tank in roof)? Have you topped up the boiler recently? If yes it could be your expansion vessel inside the boiler. Had a similar problem with mine which I thought was due to leakage from the heating system and topped up from the mains, then overf...

I've had two houses with combis and problem same each time: diverter valve. Present one is 10yr old Vokera, replaced the microswitch because it was on way out and now diverter valve is not diverting fully so heating also comes on. Am looking at replacing valve as well now.

If you are running full temp heating (80/70C) I wouldn't put pipework in concrete as you could end up with cracking due to high temps. Low temp systems, plastic is okay but avoid any joints in the floor. For long term use I'd go for copper. There are a number of plastic systems on the market but com...

When the system starts up, check to see which end of the radiator gets warm first. If the opposite end to TRV the flow is the wrong way. Depending on the make of valve you might be able to just reverse them, otherwise you'll have to move the things.

Is this an open vented or sealed system? If OV, how high is the feed tank above the boiler and pump as it could be you've not got enough height and pump is cavitating and/or drawing in air.

Shut off underfloor heating and check pressure loss. Open one circuit at a time and check again, that will tell you if you have a problem with the underfloor part. Also check expansion vessel. The air pressure in mine dropped and when water expanded some was forced out through safety valve to outsid...
