kitchen extractor fan ducting

Does anyone know if there is a maximum recomended length for 4" ducting from a kitchen extracting fan going to the outside?
I am thinking of re-locating my kitchen and the new position of the extractor would be about 4-5m from the nearest outside wall.

Thanks for the tips. We cut back the ceiling paper to about the width of the coving, scored the plaster in the ceiling and attached the coving with cove adhesive. Now filling in the gaps with caulk. We used gypsum coving which worked really well as our walls/ceilings weren't true, so don't think pol...

How to attach plaster coving when not removing ceiling paper

We are redecorating a bedroom and have stripped the walls of existing wallpaper down to the bare plaster. However we are leaving the ceiling papered as it is.
