The cost of new wire today is so cheap
why would you want to use the old wire
anyway!
besides its not really legal and could have developed hairline cracks in the copper

Hi No you dont have to remove it There are some cases where its good to put wires horizontaly between swiches and so on A while ago I was asked to fit some plugs in a large kitchen they wanted double plugs all the way down one wall at one meter gaps half way up the wall this wall was about 15 meters...

Sound like somethings shorted out
two things possible...
Element has corroded and shorted
Thermostat has corroded and shorted
My advise would be to have the unit replaced

Hi

Blue - neutral
Red - Live
Yellow - Switched live
They have a delay for the fan so when the light is switched
off the fan stays on for a while (cooker bathroom etc)
