We need a rcd installing in a house we have bought. We had a sparky round but he wanted to replace all the fuse board which is fairly new, it has Mcbs fitted. Is is possible to install a seperate rcd to protect all of the exsisting fuse board? Help!!

RCD

We need an Rcd installing on a property we have bought. We had a sparky round but he just wanted to replace everything. We have a new consumer unit but it doesnt include a Rcd. Is it possible to install a Rcd to protect the full consumer unit without replacing the whole lot?

RCD installation

We need an Rcd installing on our property. We have had an electrician round but to be fair I dont think he knew his beep from his beep!! Instead of replacing the consumer unit can we have a seperate Rcd protecting the full consumer unit?
