Re: Repairing Crack in Bathroom Wall Tile Before Inspection

Thank you for your detailed reply but you seem to have missed my point - or maybe I didn't make it clearly enough. I have no intention of replacing the tile - I do not have a 'spare' matching tile for a start. No, I want to repair the crack. I have heard that superglue can make an invisible repair o...

Repairing Crack in Bathroom Wall Tile Before Inspection

Hello I have a small crack [perhaps I should re-phrase that.....] of about 2 to 3 inches across the corner of a wall tile in my bathroom. I rent the flat and have a 'routine inspection' in just over one week. I would like to repair this crack so that it is not visible before the inspection takes pla...

Re: Cord for Bathroon Light Pull Switch has Snapped - How to Re-Attach

Another view of the ceiling unit.

I can't see where I would re-attach the cord. There is no easy obvious place (not to me anyway). I suppose it must be up into the more central hole, but it is not clear how I remove this - does it just pull off perhaps?

Cord for Bathroon Light Pull Switch has Snapped - How to Re-Attach

Hello Went to switch my bathroom light off last night and the cord broke away from the ceiling fixture, leaving the light switched on (I've removed the bulb to avoid wasting electricity). The cord was looped at the end fixed in the ceiling fixture and appears to have worn away at the apex of the loo...

Thanks anyway Paul. A useful suggestion for the future - white spirit is a bit messy (oily) and stinks! :)

Thanks for the suggestion Stua. Not sure I want to go to the trouble of mixing what sounds like concrete to me (not that I'd know really!). I'd prefer to use some king of ready mixed filler of some kind, that I can buy in a little tub or tube.

Any suggestions?

White spirit gently rubbed in with a pan scourer did the job surprisingly easy.

Thanks for the advice.

Removing gafa tape adhesive from painted wooden frame &

Hello After removing gafa (gaffa? gaffer?) tape from the painted wooden frame around the hatch from my kitchen to sitting room (serving hatch - I sealed it up for soundproofing purposes) a large amount of the adhesive from the tape has stayed stuck on to the paintwork. It is also on some of the tile...

Filling hole left by phone cable

Hello I have to remove a telephone extension box and cable. Removing the extension box is no problem, just unscrew it from the wall (it has already been disconected from the BT box). But I need to fill the hole drilled from the exterior of the building that the phone cable comes through. I'm going t...
