Thanks again for the advice and if only I had the old switch still connected!!! I normally do make sure I am methodical with the wires but didnt envisage such a problem and just whipped it off.... stupid boy! Will get a double pole switch but any further advice re terminals would be great What a gre...

Hi, I needed to replace an old light pull switch in the bathroom which controls the light and the extractor fan The new pull switch has 3 sockets (excluding earth) marked L and 1 way and 2 way. I have a single 4 core cable coming through the ceiling with (again excluding earth) red, blue and yellow ...
