Forgot to mention, i'm in scotland. Same regulations apply? Tried to read the scottish executives advice on website but not too clear. May just phone electricians/Council and see what they will expect.

So if i just get a part 'P' qualified electrician in he will do everything. I wont need to contact building control, etc? Might just have to bite bullet.

New fuse box

Hi all, new to forum, Few questions regarding the fitting of a new consumer unit. Is it something that can be done yourself? My dad is a retired electrical engineer who fitted his own box in the past and was going to do ours for us. If we are just doing a straight replacement, i.e. old wire fuse box...
