Thanks Dude DIY I understand all the pros and cons of laminate flooring. I don't think I will bother with it now in the bathroom even though it's water resistant designed for bathrooms. I will have a rethink about the type of floor but no doubt the trouble and strife will have something to say on th...

laminate flooring part 2

Hi

I have not had any reply to my last post and it might have sounded confusing.

To put it simply can you fit a wc pan and basin pedestal on top of laminate flooring or do you have to cut round them leaving an expansion gap as per the walls ?

Thanks

yoga mat

I read on here that a way to help stop condensation forming in the wc cistern is to glue a rubber yoga mat on the inside.

What is the best adhesive to use for the job ??

Thanks

Laminate flooring

I am thinking of laying aqualoc laminate flooring in my bathroom before a new suite is fitted. I understand about the expansion gap round the walls and pipes etc. what happens under the wc pan, pedestal and bath. Will the weight not hinder the floor to expand with them being screwed down. Is an expa...

Hi Guys

Thanks for all the advice, I understand all the options regarding the cast iron stack now.

Can you give me more info on the HEPvo valve for the waste.

Cheers

Thanks ALDA

I'm beginning to think I might as well renew the soil stack, with the cost and effort required. Pity you can't run the waste into the soil pipe branch that comes from the pan.

Moving bathroom basin

Now that 'Skids' has sorted out my wc problem here is another one. I am moving my bathroom basin to another outside wall. It originally emptied into a hopper, but the new location is about 3 metres away from it and I think the max is 1.7 metres for waste. The new location is next to my soil stack wh...

WC WASTE

I am installing a new bathroom suite. The soil stack is cast iron with a lead branch going to the wc pan waste. It was wrapped with greased tape where it met the pan connector and is in bad state, all twisted and split and needs replacing. Is the solution a new lead pipe or can plastic waste meet ca...
