I have been informed that insulation of wall cavities can not be done if the building is of stone construction, this is due to irregular internal profiles of the stones which may prevent equal distribution of the fill, this could cause cold areas on internal walls creating damp etc. brick walls are ...

Recently had a job dealing with a redundant wall mounted cast-iron coal chute with a sliding cover, knock it out with a hammer & chisel, break up the concrete chute and remove rubble infill,go down to a level surface then brick up, add an air brick as a precaution against damp
