Hi, I've got a cast iron garden bench that has (oak) wooden slats. The slats are in a poor condition (warped etc) and I want to replace these. Hi,
I used a Karcher pressure washer on my decking last year. It brought the surface looking as good as new!

Don't blast too closely though or you could actually damage the wood itself.

Like you, I'm not sure if this is actually recommended but it seemed to work.
