Plastic or copper pipe

I need to put an outside tap at the back of my house from an existing water supply which is used in an outhouse for a washing machine. My question is, is it easier to use plastic (pvc?) pipe or copper? If I used plastic pipe how easy is it to connect to the existing 15mm copper pipe? Also, which is ...

Thanks for your reply. I do not know why I used 220V instead of 230V, must be because I'm Welsh. Anyway, you have answered my question, I was just concerned about the safety factor really.

13 Amp cable

Hi, am I correct in saying that I can run appliances rated at 1800W using 13A cable? The cable length will be approx 10 metres. My calculations give a current of about 8.2A working on a mains voltage of 220V.
