My question is....Can I put additional insulation say about 200mm thick directly on top of the chipboard or do I really take up all the chipboard!!!!!????? Ch...

Insulating a bay window

I have discovered that my large bay window is uninsualted below the window. Obviously I will put down some foam underlay first. My question is. Should I put down some plastic VCL over the parquet? Is ...

Glossing over previously painted timber

I've used non-drip gloss before on previously painted but sanded back wood work with fairly good results. However. I have been given a large tin of proffesional trade high gloss dulux paint which is fairly runny. Can this be applied straight onto sanded down woodwork ok, or should you apply an under...

Stripping hessian wallpaper!!!

I have hessian wallpaper in my old house which I've started to strip. The hessian layer it's self comes off really easy leaving the backing paper. Trouble is, the backing paper seems to be stuck on with industrial strength glue which doesn't want to budge. I can't use a steamer as it blows the plast...
