Thanks for your replies to my question - yes I will purchase a quality dust mask first - then try spraying the wall with water and see what effect this has on removing the flaky peeling paint.

Hi Its white asbestos (thanks for the correct spelling) as far as I know its not the worse type which I think is bluey/grey? Some of the walls are smooth but just need a fresh coat of paint but how do I treat the walls that have old peeling paint, which I would have to remove before applying new pai...

How do I safely emulsion abspestos walls

My garage has abspestos walls the interior requires cleaning and a coat of emulsion - I though of spraying with water to dampen fibres and clean off cob-webs, dust etc then use a roller and emulsion - is it safe to do this? Plus some of the outer walls have unsightly cracked paint , how can i safely...
