Oh, I don't know, concrete is used in lots of places, not just by councils. I once saw concrete fence posts in the grounds of a stately home.

if it's emulsion paint i would probably soak it and scrape it off before re painting. I wouldn't want to risk too much dust from it, even if it is the less dangerous kind.

MDF = Medium Density Fibreboard, it's like chipboard but smoother, the theatre and film art department's best friend.

I didn't know that about bitware, good point. You also make a good point about getting a 56k modem. In fact I probably have a few I won't ever use again. ericmark I'll send you one if it would help.

ericmark - you might want to consider just using microsoft fax when in XP

I don't think ericmarc is having problems staying dry in wet weather.
Oh, you mean [i]that[/i] sort of mac.

I'm almost 100% certain windows 2000 drivers will work nevertheless.

I did consider papering but I foolishly figured that painting would yeild a quicker result.

After doing a more dense mist coat 5:1 paint:water I am still getting some bubbling. Oh well, back to scraping and 1:1 mist coat. :(

I will get it finished someday :lol:

What is the make and model of the modem? You should be able to get it to work in xp by using a driver for windows 2000. Have you searched for drivers on the web?

Are you saying that the modem works for fax in windows xp but not for connections to the internet?

Does your modem show up in the modems control panel?

Have you tried setting up a new connection in the Network Connections control panel using the modem?
