I had a comparable problem. The huge gable wall of my daughter's end terrace house had damp patches on the inside. It had been pointed a few years ago by a previous owner, but there must've been gaps or imperfections although they weren't obvious. Ideally, the answer would be to rake out and repoint...

Freeman, That tapping technique works really well. Y' can see the level in the mould drop slightly and occasionally the bubbles of air escaping. Thanks for tip. Sorry for delay - I lost track of the forum.

Your advice works well, and I seem at last to have got the knack. I've also gone for a wetter mix that'll flow a little.
I haven't got to the yoghurt part yet, though!

Hi I'm making some exposed aggregate concrete blocks to match and repair a 70 year old garden wall. Pipe through dpm

I'd not punch a hole in it and try and seal it at the dpm level. Scrunch up the dpm in a sort of wizard's had " __A__ " shape, bringing the peak up above the concrete floor level, and put the pipe through at the very top, so that there is no breach in the dpm below the floor. Tony.
