Thanks for the reply Chris, I have been asking around and it seems Worcester bosch and Valiant are the two names that keep cropping up all the time. Valiant ecoTEC range has been mentioned as well as the WB greenstars that you mention below. I suppose its a matter of finding out exactly what i need ...

Also....are these speedfit, pushfit type of plumbing/heating parts any good and reliable..do they have any flaws or are they just as good as the compression fit joints.....do they leak?

Cheers Sparx...got me multimeter on it and found the switch live..all the lights work now but one of them seems to take its time coming on....but better late than never as the saying goes.

How do I determine......

which of the 3 black wires from the cables for my light fitting is the SWITCH LIVE.
I have 3 reds. 3 Earths and 3 blacks...of which i believe 2 should be neutral and one a switch live.
a step by step type intstruction guide would really be appreciated.

I have checked..nothing like that whatsoever.
Could it be that somehow the switch live in the 'L' terminal is not really the switch live and that it could be one of the other two black wires which are in the 'N' terminal.
