Mould is normally caused by condensation. Make sure that you have adequate heating and ventilation.

This is probably caused by condensation. Mould prefers the purer water which is produced by condensation. Its not good for the health of the inhabitants, especially the very young or with chest problems. You need to get the correct balance of heating and ventilation. Insulating the exterior walls is...

I have screwed battens to the floor in my cottage and then nailed oak floorboards to them. I don't think laying ordinary floorboards directly is a good idea. You could fit the real wood flooring which clips together as a floating floor.

A dehumidifier may help. The windows are acting as a dehumidifier at the moment. The relative humidity must be quite high for you to get that amount of water on double glazing. The drying out time should be quicker because of the dry lining rather than plastering.

It could be a leaking pipe. This is the most common cause of dampness on internal walls.
