Is there any specific height that the electrical sockets have to be above the worktops in the kitchen? or is it personal choice.

the lekkie has told us that we will also need isolator switches fitted outside the rooms that need ventilation,eg wc, bathroom even though they have windows.

wide doors

have an old house (1920) and the doorways are quite wide. the front door is 90 -92 cm wide .
any ideas where i can buy the same size door from...have exhausted most avenues.

noisy timer on boiler

since having afew power cuts in the last month, the timer clock on the
boiler has started making a kind of fluttering noise!!
the only way to describe it, is that it sounds like a big bird/pidgeon flapping its wings!!

what could be the problem?
any advice welcome

Can anyone tell me if there is certain amount of space you have to leave between a window and a gas hob. Nowadays the gas hobs have a automatic cut off so not sure about regs/requirments.

can anyone recommend a brand a paint for exterior painting of a house. Also does it need to be sealed first and then painted and how many coats of paint?
