hot water going cold

I have a woster 30i combi boiler and while running hot water for a bath the hot water runs hot and then it runs cold for a while approx 1min and then runs hot again. Also while using the shower the same happens, this happens even when there is no other demand on the hot water system. Anyone got any ...

When was it installed ?

What sort of thermostat do you have ?
It may be like my fathers boiler that is controlled by the thermostat with 4 different timed temperature settings, so effectively turning boiler off with room temp only.
e.g temp setting drops to 7oC after 11pm untill 21oC at 7am.

Had a similar problem with my system a while back and found that my chipboard wooden cover on expansion tank in loft had partially disintegrated and the particles of wood had found thier way into the indirect heating coils in tank after draining to remove a radiator. Had to drain and backflush coils...

Themostatic bath mixer taps

Anyone used these types of taps for showers ? I am thinking of using one as i now have a combi boiler and obviously good hot water pressure and flow. Are the plates very hot to the touch just after the m/c finishes, if not the m/c could not be heating the water upto the high tempratures reqd to clean the dishes effectively.

Should be three wires

Blue connect to neutral (N)
Brown connect to live (L)
Yellow and green connect to earth (E)
