You can if these are cast iron and you dont need to keep hit with hammer at each collar not to hard and this will crack at this point. you can then remove down pipe and then gently hit from side to side at the remaining fixings, this can be a more gentle way of removing than a crow bar. any breathable felt, normally in 1.5mtr wide by 50mtr rolls or 1mtr by 50mtrs. TYVEX is one of the best but there are so many out there and the price can vary quite a lot. Dont forget you need to replace battens these must be treated and normally 25mm x 38mm.

Foam spray

I am a roofing contractor myself and I feel it is close to a con, costs double a roof strip and once on makes any repair nearly immposable. where does the water go that gets through the tiles etc onto the foam, onto the wall plate, wont take long to rot.
