Gentlemen,

Thank you very much for your words of wisdom. I am visiting her tomorrow and will know much more then. Fortunately, and unusually, the expansion/feeder tank is apparently galvanised steel so not quite as dangerous as plastic but nevertheless, it needs to be sorted urgently.

Central heating expansion/feeder tank in loft boiling hot.

Conventional central heating/hot water system installed. Expansion/feeder tank in loft for c/h is too hot to touch as though pump is pumping hot water back up into expansion tank. Also knocking when central heating starts up. Any ideas what problem might be?? (For moderator) Have checked project pag...
