Plastic piping for hot water vertical runs

I have been told not to use plastic piping for vertical hot water piping runs. Is this sound advice?
If so why?
I have never seen this advice in manufacturers catalogues.

steel studding not long enough

My local builders merchant only stocks steel studding in 2700mm lengths, my ceiling is 2800mm high, will it be alright to use 47x47 sawn timber top and bottom to make it fit?
Thanks, textediter

Re: shower drains below kitchen ceiling

Thanks Stoneboy, but ceiling is already goosed due to toilet failure and needs repair, what I propose will "repair" most of ceiling and give access to plumbing in case of future failure.

shower drains below kitchen ceiling

I have limited space under the bathroom floor for shower and basin drains so I propose removing the kitchen ceiling in the area (one corner of the kitchen) and running the drains under the joists and then boxing it all in with a screwed hatch which would allow access to the drains should I need it. ...

Shimming Chipboard Flooring to Level After Replacing Floorboards

Re: UPVC back door and Kitchen window fitting

I have a Door
I also have a window

They are going in totally separate openings- there is about 500mm between them.

I fit them with door and opening light in place (thanks for that)
Can you outline the rest of the process please.
Thanks, texteditor.

Re: UPVC back door and Kitchen window fitting

Sorry, they are totally separate, Question- Do I install the frames with the opening light and the door attached or do I remove the door and opening light and then fit the frames and then put the door and opening light back in the frames and fit the glass?
Thanks, texteditor.
