Thanks for that. I had already bought the unit off ebay for £30 which wasnt a bad price and have changed it and its working great now, I will remember the tip about a service kit should it happen again.

Cheers Beanie....I removed it with 2 x screws and worked the valve up and down with a spanner to free it. Seems to be ok but if it goes again i'll change the whole unit. They are selling for around £25 - £30 on ebay.

Beanie...how do you take the motorized part off as I have the same problem. Do you need to drain the system down as it will leak out when you do this? Thanks

I have a open vented system where my rads are heating up when only the hot water is on. My 3 way valve is either stuck or not working although it once was.
