With thanks to all who have taken an interest, here is an update. The dishwasher has been adjusted up to height by means of its three legs, two front and one back, all adjustable from the front. For the washing machine, we purchased a pair of appliance rollers or trolleys (from an auction site...) a...

Hi VroooOOOM Thanks for your help. After a bit of further reading of the small print, I find that the two appliances have different requirements. The dishwasher has longish legs that you can wind up - you can reach the front two from the front, and the central back one is connected to an adjuster, a...

Hi I have a similar problem. The cistern is a conventional low-level syphon type with lever handle. Most times (and increasingly frequently) after being flushed and when the main flush has subsided, a small trickle into the pan is still evident at the back of the pan. You don't really see the water ...

Rigga, thanks for your comments. You are so right! What we eventually did was to seal a couple of small water marks (from condensation run-off below a window cill) with a spray sealing paint, and then we rollered about 4 coats of emulsion on top, cutting in with a brush. The spray sealing paint left...

Installing integrated appliances in kitchen

The new kitchen is going in well, but we are a bit stumped by the integrated dishwasher and washing machine being only 820mm high, when the units are 870mm. How do we deal with this difference? They don't seem to have long legs to screw out - just little adjuster ones at the front. They are Electrol...

Thanks for that advice, Stoneyboy, but it does seem like a lot of fumes! We haven't tried stripping the hessian - we don't mind the hessian as such, just the awful faded dark green colour. Someone has suggested painting on 'glue size' - whatever that is. My dad thinks it's what artists use to prepar...

Painting over hessian - How to prime?

Hi, I'm a newbie here, and would appreciate some help. We've a room covered in hessian which is dark and faded and horrible but well hung and well stuck to the walls. We thought we'd paint it over, but we don't know what to use and if we should use some sealant or primer first. Any suggestions? Thanks
