Re: Lukewarm Hot Water - Hole in HWC Coil or Faulty 3 Way Valve?

Diy3r, I had a similar problem, if that's any help. I see you've checked the water level, in the F&E. So that's OK (sometimes they run dry is the ballcock sticks). If this is the cause, the simple way I solved a similar problem was racking up the thermostat for a short while. Basically some heat...

Re: Cold Radiators in Flat Using Open Vented Back Boiler System

Thanks proptech, You're right of course, the stuck valve is the first thing to tackle/eliminate (although the systems been working for a few years now with a stuck valve). UPDATE in case some gets the same prob. I took a closer at the manual valve, and managed to get the circular front of the...

Cold Radiators in Flat Using Open Vented Back Boiler System

Need help with a central heating problem (old, but reliable back boiler, open vented system in a flat - only 4 rads): HW is boiling. The 2 rads nearest boiler/pump are boiling. However, the 2 rads furthest from the boiler/pump rads take ages to warm up and then they only get slightly lukewarm. I've ...

Thanks for your help again Bob. Everything is OK now ! Last night I took off the rad nearest the boiler, flushed the rad (no actual 'sludge', more the consistency of ink), also drained a tiny bit of water out of the system via the In rad valve. Then replaced the rad, fully opened all rads, turned th...

Thanks for the posting Bob, I ran the boiler last nite for an hour with all the radiators turned off - that made the DHW pipe going into the hot water tank hot, and whilst the hot tap water was slightly warmer it was still only lukewarm. Opened up the rads again - rads working fine for about 2 hours...

-1 Last Night and No Hot Water

Could someone help please. After remedying a problem with the feeder tank going a dry, the back boiler is now firing smoothly again. Result is hot radiators, but tepid DHW. Investigated the airing cupboard: DHW pipe (going to the coil) is hot after leaving a manual-3way-valve, six inches of horizont...

Baxi Back Boiler - No Hot Water

After a prob with the feeder tank going a bit dry - now have hot lovely hot rads, but tepid 'hot' water. Into the airing cupboard  : HW pipe (going to the coil) is hot after leaving the manual-3-way-valve. Could this be an air lock ? If so, can it be cleared without dismantling the syst...
