I need to sand the wooden floor and as I have an old 1/3 sheet sander decided it was time to invest in a new one. Saw the Ryobi EBS 800 belt sander I thought it looked robust they get a good name so I purchased it. I know it is me but when I tried to use it ....it's gouging the wood it runs so fast ...

Re: dampness or leaky patio doors

Hi

I kind of thought that but was worried that I was not addressing the wet problem first and so replacing would not solve the problem.

Thank you for your input. I had not thought of the insurance. Have not claimed in over 20 years Will they not just say it is wear and tear ie tough!

dampness or leaky patio doors

I discovered we had a leak in the patio door sill last winter so water was draining in, instead of out. Got it fixed and over the summer it had dried out We also resealed the top of the door on the outside and although it could have been done better we reconed it would hold us over the winter and co...

Re: Internal insulation

Hi,

I will do that I thought that I would not be eligible because the outside walls and loft are insulated but there is no harm in asking they can only say no. I wont be any worse off and they should have a list of reliable firms that do that kind of thing.

Thank you for your help

Re: Internal insulation

That's great
Since I have never seen any equip for that kind of thing, for either sale or rental I assume a firm should do it.
So 2 questions, can you give me any idea of how much I can anticipate paying, and do you know any reliable firms in the Glasgow area who do it.

Thank you for your help

My house was originally built in the late 30s I put an extention on some years ago, kitchen 15'X12' and living area 10'x12' the original back wall is about 22' long. Although the outside was all insulated at the time, in the winter it is still cold internally where the old building meets the new. We...

I agree with virtually all that the other folk have said, and my story is not any better I was conned by a father and son firm who were doing work for a neighbour. Initially the work they did was ok it was a number of smallish jobs (hubby had died 6 months earlier) that I was unable to do, they comm...

Hi, Thank you I really wondered if I was that out of touch. I live in Glasgow, and I had actually spoken to the plumber and told him what I thought we could do, but I was taken aback when 2 days later he phoned to say £2000 JUST for installation I believe people should be paid for their work. I woul...

Cost of plumbing

Hi, We have always done most of our own work ie DIY, with tradesmen for what we couldn't do. With my partners demise that is no longer an option. I now need a shower cubicle in the bathroom. If I take out the bath & sink turn the bath round by 90% & put a small one in [1400] a shower cubicle...
