Lots of air in system

Bungalow with old microbore system running a new Worcester gas boiler. Central heating works fine until hot water is turned on then there is a massive gurgling sound and I have to bleed several rads. The system is indirect with new rads & TRVs. My thoughts are the level in the primary vent pipe ...

I have had a Parkray 111 running 8 radiators for 20 years and find it OK. Fuel works out at 45 hwt a year so about £600 for 8 months hot water and heating.
