Loud noise

When my heating reaches the correct temperature and the thermostat turns it off, this is followed by a bang, it sounds like someone has thumped the side of the water tank with their fist. This only happens once or twice first thing in the morning, then it is ok for the rest of the day. Any ideas ple...

My house is 9 years old, and has oil-fired central heating. When the heating comes on, the pipes click and bang! Is this something I should be concerned about? I've had a new pump fitted, had the system drained and refilled with Entonox (is that right?), and checked that the radiators don't need ble...
