DAMP COURSE FROM THE OUTSIDE

Hello All, I own a flat where we are having the whole of the outside render removed and re-rendered as it has become porous over the years. Also whilst the render is off I would like to have a damp proof injected to help witht he damp. I know a lot of people are skeptical about damp proof injections...

HELP NEXT DOORS WORKMAN PUTTING IN A DAMP COURSE HAS DRILLED RIGHT THROUGH MY WALL

My neighbour next door is having a damp proof course put in and has has drilled right through my wall and also the tanking as well as the skirting board, he also said that damp proofing does not work and told my tenant that my flat will get damp which will get worse. We also had problems with the am...

Well the kitchen was tanked ie the whole wall done. But the problem is is that the damp coming up over the damp course ie only halfway up the wall is the internal walls ie the wall seperating the kitchen from the lounge and the party internal wall to the next door flat. This is the worst affected ar...

Is tanking the same as damp proofing! It is fine where I have had it damp proofed (is that how you spell it). But there is damp coming up over the original damp proofing!

I only put the smile because of the response from the council which I was pleased with. I had received a letter from the Secretary of our management company saying that we would have to pay a considerable lump sum to have the drains repaired. The Secretary has not given a thought to the fact that th...

I have given the council offices a ring and they are going to send someone out to have a look  It would be great if it was their responsibility as that would mean they would have to fix it - hopefully! -.

They are internal walls and not outside walls, although I did forget to say that the flat is a basement flat. It could be caused I suppose by condensation but it is the fact that the brick work is crumpling which worries me. Also the flat next door is let and the chap in there as far as I can see ne...

Oh thanks for that this is what I have tried to tell the Managment Company, that it is the drains and not the fact that there is no return valve as I have suffered a second flood to my flat, but I think that they want to say that if I had a return valve the situation would not have arisen

The drain top is just inside the property, but the trees belong to the council the roots of the trees are trees which are outside on the road. I have just phoned the council now and they are going to send a tree surgeon to look at the situation for me  thanks for your reply.

DAMP RISING UP OVER DAMP COURSE

I had a damp course put in some 20 years ago as well as tanking and altough there is no damp where the flat was tanked damp seems to be coming up over the damp course which was only done half way up! I wondered whether I could inject the walls myself or whether it would be a big job ie the plaster n...

ROOTS

There are roots entering the drains which are outside of the house under the pavement which block the drains. Does anyone know if this is the responsibility of the Council or do we as owners of the house have to pay and deal with it!

RETURN VALVE IN BATHROOM

Just recently due to the drains being blocked by leaves, seeds etc, bathwater has come back into my flat. Is it necessary to have a return valve fitted in the bathroom to the pipe etc! if so where should it be located
