Well I'm using plenty of PTFE tape as suggested. Also I'm using rubber shower washers as a backup. I'm using 2 or 3 so that the spout points downwards when tightened up. It's working good.

3/4 BSP Connection sealing

I'm making up connections to a thermostatic shower valve. All connections are tapped 3/4" BSP. I want to use 90deg elbows (3/4 x 22 mm Compression) on the hot and cold inlets but not sure how to get a good seal on the BSP thread. Do the BSP threads need to be fully tightened? If so this leaves ...

Fixing Bath Spout

What is the best way to fix a bath spout to what will be a tiled bathroom wall? The bath spout comes in two bits: the spout with a 1/2" thread connection (but a flat machined on to the thread - makes sealing tricky!); and a plain chrome plate with hole that fits over the bath spout thread. So p...
