Yes this boiler was manufactured in 1986, you will find it very hard or impossible to find parts. What you could do is call Glowworm on 01773 828300 and ask to be put through to literature. They can send you a copy of the user/servicing manual with the correct terminolagy. Due the boilers age you sh...

Half or most items are the same price in plumbers merchants if you looked in detail. The main advantage for tradesmen is they get items on credit so pay the following month. We use screwfix alot as there prices are very competetive. If you know exaclty what item you want then online would be the che...

yes, get someone to check gas pressure. Gas Safe Engineer would be able to locate the problem. The appliance may need slight strip down or could be as said before, gas pressure. I have come across something similar to this but it wasn't gas pressure, it was leftover solder in the inlet pipe reducing...

Assuming the boiler is a Potterton Puma and the wax capsul is the fault. Would you reccomend to change the whole divertor valve or can the wax capsul be replaced on its own.

Combi Boiler problem?

Combi Boiler: have'nt been told the model, only that it was fitted a year ago.
- hot water only works fine

- heating only works fine

- heating and hot water both become warm and pressure at hot tap decreases.

ANY IDEAS WOULD BE A GREAT HELP. thanks

I agree with you that in a bathroom or near water conections this method should not be used. I understand the preferred method by you and many engineers. Its true to say that a boiler is regarded permanently connected equipment and this should answer my question of a unswitched socket conection bein...

I have been told the benifit of an unswitched socket outlet would be that all suspected electrical current is eleminated by simply taking the plug out. A switched fused connection could have a suspected current although this is rare to me. I did come across one boiler change installation i did and f...

Electrical conection to a boiler? help!

Installing boilers has become a two trade installation with the Part P unless you are trained. The electrical conection from the boiler needs to come from a fused double pole isolator (spur). I have noticed that there are installations where the use of a plug is used direct into a unswitch shuttered...
