Problem sorted. There was in fact a blockage from the header tank that tops up the system. It appeared to be at a T joint where the header tank feed joined the inlet to the pump. It seems to me that as the system is not topped up frequently by the header tank, silt had built up, together with calcif...

Thanks, took the bleed screw out completely and was able to rotate the impellor with a screwdriver as you said. I fully expected to have to replace the pump.

Central Heating Pump

Any ideas why my Grundfos central heating pump doesn't operate? Boiler fires okay, then trips on boiler stat as the pump isn't operating. It is not airlocked just not working. Is it likely to be jammed or an electrical problem?
