Can anyone recommend a really good self build book?

I just want a good self build reference book applicable to modern UK building regs. All the books I come across are either appropriate to the U.S or solely about project management. My intention is to put up this structure myself.

After further conversation with the neighbour its seems he wont be happy with it where ever it is. I wouldnt been so dissappointed if it wasnt for his 40+ per day fag habit!
