Final solution

To finish off the post - I connected the inlet water pipes to the same tap using the Y-piece as previous post suggested. For the waste pipe, I added an extra standpipe next to the existing one using a T-joint, and a washing machine standpipe pack so the final result ended up looking like an F lying ...

I used this (or similar unbranded version) on a small section of wall (approx 1.5mx1.5m). It cost about £20 just for this, and still took quite a bit of time to do. Installing dishwasher using washing machine pipes

I'm hoping to install a dishwasher next to my washing machine. I'm guessing that I will need some sort of y connector for the cold tap to split the input between both machines. Is this correct? Also, the washing machine currently has a flexible hose passed down a separate stand pipe, and there isn't...
